Michael White is a professor in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University. He is also the associate director of the Center for Violence Prevention and Community Safety at ASU. White earned his Ph.D. from Temple University in 1999. He is the author of more than 30 refereed articles and two books. His articles have appeared in journals such as Justice Quarterly, the Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, the Journal of Experimental Criminology, and Criminology and Public Policy. White has been co-principal investigator on more than a dozen funded projects from local, state and national sources. He is a nationally recognized expert in the areas of criminal justice policy and police use of force.
