MCSO Crime Intelligence Division intern needed

Position Title:  Intelligence Analyst Intern

Number of Openings:  3-4
Work Schedule:  Mon-Fri (flexible)
Hours per Week:  16-40 with minimum 8 hour shifts

Posting Description
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is offering Intelligence Analyst Intern positions within the Criminal Intelligence Division for the 2015 Spring Semester.  The internship provides students with the opportunity to gain insights into unique aspects of law enforcement intelligence that are not typically available in a classroom setting.

The Intelligence Analyst Internship offers students an opportunity to work with law enforcement professionals and receive training in the areas of criminal investigation, data analysis and collection, intelligence gathering and vetting    The Intern will have opportunities to utilize the skills and knowledge acquired from training in support of live, real-time field operations by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and its agency partnerships (approximately 144) from the Arizona Counter Terrorism Information Center (ACTIC). 

In addition to training and field experiences, the Intern will be required to produce work products accurately and often under tight deadlines from the Criminal Intelligence Division Units including the Counter Terrorism Unit, Criminal Research Unit and Jail Intelligence.   The Intelligence Analyst Intern will report to Counter Terrorism Unit Sergeant.


  • Knowledge of law enforcement
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Insight into Social Media data collection
  • Ability to operate in highly flexible stressful environments where work product accuracy and time management are critical
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • Foreign language skills; Spanish preferred Ability to work 8 hour shifts
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 preferred
  • Pass a criminal background check



Work Schedule
Monday-Friday: (flexible schedule)
Hours Per Week: 16-40 (flexible on hours)
8 hour shifts (not negotiable)
