Internship – Arizona Department of Corrections (Office of Victims Services)

  Job Overview:


The intern will assist staff within the Office to ensure that all crime victims are treated with dignity and respect.  The intern will assist providing comprehensive services to victims and survivors of crime. 

Requirements:

 

  • Strong academic standing
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Research skills
  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills
  • Basic understanding of the justice system

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist staff advocating for change within the inmate population by illustrating the impact of crime on victims through restorative justice methods; including education and dedicated services to the community.
  • Assist with protective orders
  • Provide information related to restitution
  • Offer victims information related to services and victims organizations
  • Provide information regarding hearings
