Special Investigations Intern needed

The Special Investigations Section of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office is seeking highly motivated students from the Arizona State University School of Criminology and Criminal Justice as interns.

This opportunity will provide the interns inside operational knowledge of Arizona’s supreme law enforcement agency and operational experience working with incoming and existing investigations. The types of investigations include:

  • Vulnerable adult abuse
  • Consumer fraud
  • Drug trafficking
  • Human smuggling
  • Environmental crimes
  • Healthcare Fraud
  • Money laundering
  • White collar crimes
  • Political corruption
  • Youth tobacco enforcement
  • Anti-trust
  • High technology crimes
  • Foreign prosecution of defendants who have fled to Mexico

These positions are non-paid and have the status as volunteer. The number of hours must meet the minimum established for credit by the university if applicable; however, the hours and days are negotiable depending on the interns’ availability. The hours will typically between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday unless there is a special operation. All interns must complete a training-orientation. In addition, all interns will be required to submit to an oral interview, background investigation and sign a letter of confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the investigations.
