Network Perspectives on Criminology and Criminal Justice Symposium


The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University invites scholars from multiple disciplines to discuss the current state of social network theories and methodologies as they relate to crime, deviance and justice. This is an opportunity to participate in a forum for the critical examination and analysis of network research which has greatly advanced the study of various topics related to crime in the past decade.

Location/Hotel Information

The symposium will be held at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel, located at 50 East Adams Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85004.  Attendees can receive a nightly room rate of $149 if they reserve a room no later than Saturday, December 22, 2012 . Graduate Student Travel Stipend

The ASU School of Criminology and Criminal Justice is pleased to offer $100 travel awards to 30 non-ASU graduate students interested in attending the symposium. To apply, students must submit a 1 page summary of how attending the conference will benefit their current or anticipated research agenda.

A completed application will include the student's name, email address, telephone number, department, and university affiliation. This document should be submitted via email in a PDF format to by Friday, December 14, 2012. Please put "NP Student Stipend" in the subject line.

Awardees will be notified by email. Funds will be dispersed after awardee submits travel expense receipt or receipts for airline tickets, hotel, etc. to the above email address with the subject heading "NP Stipend Expenses".
