New Challenges * New Solutions

cybercrime

The Internet can be a great tool. Fun to surf, chat with friends, and find endless entertainment. We send emails, post photographs, pay bills, and blog about our lives. But we live in a world where people sometimes take advantage of others. It’s smart to be prepared. Cybercrime is real. It can leave victims frustrated, helpless and broke. And just as law enforcement catches on to the latest ploy, criminals develop new schemes to steal information and identities.

The Arizona Attorney General's Office of Victim Services and School of Criminology and Criminal Justice welcome two local police detectives who are on the front line of this growing problem. They'll discuss the newest challenges facing law enforcement and the latest solutions they're using to nab bad guys. Participants will learn how to protect themselves and their information from this ever-evolving form of crime.
