Many CCJ students want to pursue careers in law enforcement, which requires going through training at a law enforcement academy. The Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board oversees all the law enforcement training academies in the state.  This session will cover what students should be doing now to prepare for a career in law enforcement, what an academy is like, and what it takes to be a successful recruit.

Guest speaker:  Marie Dryer, basic training manager for the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board, will talk about what students need to be doing now to prepare for a career in law enforcement. She will also discuss how to prepare for an academy and what to expect once there.

Recruiters from several police agencies that are hiring will be there, including: Apache Junction, Department of Public Safety, Maricopa County, and Phoenix.
